About us
COL'OR was officially born in 2002.
In 2006 it was recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an NGO, Non Governmental Organization.
It is registered with the Inland Revenue as an NGO, non-profit social organization, and is therefore eligible to receive contributions of 5x1000.
Operating since 1999 in support of some local communities in developing countries, it is understood that the sustainability of any intervention requires a fair and equitable use of natural resources such as water.
The Marimanti Water Project lies in this context – the first intervention of COL’OR – with the construction of 15 km of aqueduct to bring water to free fall from the River Kathia to Marinanti, new capital of Tharaka District (Kenya) and areas nearby.
Today COL'OR fulfils its cooperation efforts in close collaboration with local realities, resident in territories where it operates. Sometimes those choices involve long lead time that our society is not accustomed to conceive, but the motivation for this lies in the belief that such action is also a means to support education and therefore must be implemented together with the beneficiary community and not just for it.
